Hi Gordon/Von James Joseph (aged 7) was mistranscribed as SPILMAN in 1871 census, with grandparents Joseph and Jane POWELL. Looks like he always lived with them? No trace in Little Meols of any other SPILMAN or SHIPMANs. No trace of a James and Mary in Cheshire or Liverpool, they could have died?
