New material on www.liverpool-schools.co.uk Just finished some early analysis of 1903 Education Handbook, which lists 1,656 teachers in Liverpool's non-denominational schools. Just over 80% of those listed were women. Apart from Alan WILLIAMS at Westminster Rd, all other infants' teachers were women. Teachers in Intermediate Mixed sections were exclusively female, as were teachers in schools for the 'mentally defective' and 'physically and mentally defective'. 7% of teachers in Senior Boys' Departments were female, but no men taught in Senior Girls' Departments! I have also uploaded almost 370 Teacher Registrations. These go from the 1880s to the 1940s. This is an ongoing project - hit and miss whether I find people as there is no way of searching geographically. If you think an ancestor of yours may be listed, please contact me and I'll have a look. http://www.liverpool-schools.co.uk/html/registrations.html Hope someone finds something of use! Rachel
