    3. Dear sir I have been given your email address as a Liverpool genealogy group who may be able to help me. I live in Sydney Australia but my ancestors on my mother¹s side all came from the Liverpool area and I can only find out what is on the ancestry site. But I would like to see if I can find: 1. if there are any relatives still living in and around Liverpool. 2. my great great grandparents owned a confectionery business in the second half of the 1800¹s until they migrated and I have been unable to find out anything about the business. 3. Anything on the Sanderson family Some details are: Point 1 Thomas (33) & Elizabeth (32) Chapman 1851 England Census shows them living at 8 James St, Liverpool. Their children were: Clara (9), Heywood (8), Elizabeth (7), Louise (5), Stanley (2) and Edith (a few mnths). Thomas is a fruit merchant, born in Manchester c1818. In 1861 the family lived at 118 Duke St, Liverpool and by 1871 they lived in 18 Parkfield Rd, Toxteth Park. My main interest is Heywood who is my great great grandfather. He married Jane Wilson Sanderson in 1867. They had 3 children: Walter Heywood, Edith Maude and Ida. Walter went into the merchant navy and stayed in the UK while Heywood, Jane, Edith and Ida emigrated to New Zealand and then on to Australia. Walter Heywood Chapman married Ellen Jane Davidson in 1892 and in the 1901 Census was aged 33, 3rd Mate in Steamer, living at 462 Hawthorne Rd, Bootle Cum Linacre, Liverpool. At that stage they had two daughters, Mary Catharine (7) and Edith J. (5). I believe Mary C. Chapman married a Pearson in West Derby in 1919 and Edith married either an Alfred List in Hinckley in 1918 or a John B Parry in West Derby in 1925 (I¹m not sure at this stage which one it is). I have also found a son, Walter Heywood Chapman, born in 1904 in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Would there be any relatives of Walter Heywood Chapman snr left in and around Liverpool that you would know of? Point 2 Heywood Chapman took over his father¹s confectionery business in the 1860¹s. The 1961 Census states that he employed 2 men, 6 women, 1 girl and 1 boy so it sounds like a fairly large business. Heywood migrated to New Zealand in 1876 and his wife Jane took over running the business until she too migrated to NZ in 1885. We do not know what happened to the business and any information would be great. Point 3 Jane Wilson Chapman (nee Sanderson) was born on 25th March 1845 at 47 Great Charlotte St, Liverpool. Her father was John Sanderson (wine merchant), born c1820 in Scotland, and her mother was Catherine Sanderson (nee Lyon), born c1823 in Liverpool. In the 1851, the family was living at 4 Adelaide Bldgs, 8 Ranelagh Pl, Liverpool John was a House Agent & Bed Manufacturer. There was a son, Lord John who was born 1847 in Manchester and I believe he died in 1900, aged 53. I don¹t have many other details of the Sanderson¹s and any help would be appreciated. Are you able to help please? Regards Diana Pecar Sydney, Australia
