>From The Liverpool Echo June 20 1848 I have a report on the inquest into the death of Thomas EVANS who died as as result of a "pugilistic encounter" at a Greasby Public House with one Joseph SHERLOCK, others involved were Wm SHERLOCK, Samuel POWNALL and William MINSHALL. A later report states they were all committed by the coroner for manslaughter. I believe Thomas EVANS was the brother of my 3xG/Grandmother, Mary EVANS but I am curious to know who in particular was the mentioned Joseph SHERLOCK. Can anyone shed any light on the above. If anyone would like further details of the reports please contact me off list and I will forward copies.
