Hello Mary Emily MULLIGAN died 16th January 1919 , aged 54, in the Liverpool Workhouse Infirmary. She was the wife of Michael MULLIGAN a warehouseman and was buried in Anfield Cemetery 20 January 1919 in a pauper's grave. Michael was living at 51 Oxford St, Liverpool at the time of her deat. I would appreciate any information about Mary Emily as I am not sure if she is a relative. Thank you Magdalen

Hello Magdalen, I was in the Liverpool records office on Friday and had a look at the Anfield burial register. I can confirm what you've just put and she was indeed buried in a public grave. The 51 Oxford Street address is also correct. I then looked in the the 1918 Gore's street directory for Liverpool in the A-Z listing for MULLIGAN. There are MULLIGANs present but unfortunately not Mary Emily nor anybody in Oxford St. I never got to the bottom of a search in the 1918 Electoral role for Oxford St not being able to find the index to locate the polling district number. Is there a death register for the Liverpool Workhouse Infirmary? The death registers I've seen were viewable not being cover by the 100 year closure rules. I'll send you the scans of the burial register and 1918 street index off list.
