Sorry about all those "tests", but it was such a relief being able to post to a Rootsweb list again after a month in virtual solitary confinement. :-) I wasn't the only "old timer" with the problem, apparently, since the admin of another list posted this on 11 October - the same day my own difficulties began :- http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com:80/th/read/LANCSGEN/2008-10/1223757224 and someone else on the Listowners's list on 5 November :- http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/Listowners/2008-11/1225916460 It was suggested to me several times that the problem was being caused by my outward e-mail scanning program, but interestingly the situation appears to have returned to normal without me having to change anything at my end. If you see your mail arrive in your own mail box, George, then you can be sure it has arrived in all the other mail boxes. If you don't get any response, it's probably because no one can help with your query. I have to try to resist the urge to respond to every query, whether I know the answer or not - I feel it is impolite not to respond, but I know some find it irritating. Hi George To add to what Marged has said, a good way of checking whether your mail has got through to the list or not is to look in the list archives at :- http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/ENG-MERSEYSIDE/ Note that your post at 08:14pm today is already there!
