Hi Merseyside Listers, I am looking for anyone descended or connected with the following people. Francis William Hazlehurst RICHARDS, son of James Monro and Mary RICHARDS. Francis was born c1834 in Stepney, his mother's maiden name HAZLEHURST. Francis was a mariner and later a labourer, he lived in a number of places in Toxteth, Woodruff St, Williams Place , Beresford Road, Rankin St and Beloe St. Him and Sarah always seem to be living with a Robert and Mary BURGESS, who exact relationship to Sarah is not known as such. Sarah Ann BURGESS, born c1843 Norwich, Norfolk. Always consistent in censuses with age and place of birth, however although her birth points to being a child of John and Sarah Burgess (Sarah, the mother previously married to Robert BURGESS, cousin to her husband John). The indications are that Sarah could be a child/sister of a Robert BURGESS. PROBLEM NO MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE FOUND FOR THIS MARRIAGE. Finding this would hopefully tell me exactly who Sarah's father is as at this moment in time there are queries around her parentage. WOULD LIKE... I'd like to hear from anyone descended from Francis and Sarah RICHARDS. The family stayed in Toxteth and their surviving children are as follows 1. William Robert Martin Hazlehurst RICHARDS bn 1875 2. Mary Ann RICHARDS bn 1865 married to Edward Jones GRIFFITHS, aka Edward David Griffith-Jones, David Griffith-Jones married in 1885 St Thomas Church 3. Elizabeth Ann RICAHRDS bn 1872 married to Thomas HAYES 1890 St Thomas's Church. Two children Sarah and Thomas 4. Francis Frederick RICAHRDS bn 1879 married to Lavinia Mary DAVIS bn 1881-1882 , one known child Francis Alfred RICAHRDS BN 1900 5. Gertrude Florence RICAHRDS bn 1882 married James SCOTT in 1915 Birkenhead. I note that in the 1871 Census Francis RICHARDS and Sarah RICHARDSON (sic) have living with them a 63 year-old widowed "mother" Mary BLACKBURN, born in Salop ie Shropshire. Free BMD has these marriages under the same reference number:- December Quarter 1868 Madeley 6a/1205 BURGESS Sarah RICHARDS Francis William As Madeley is in SHROPSHIRE this might perhaps be worth pursuing if you haven't done so already?
