Hi Pete, The burial registers are microfilmed, and provide only limited information:- name, age, last address of deceased, minister who performed ceremony, date of interment and plot/grave reference in cemetery. It wont show any previous interments in that particular grave. However, assuming you find the burial record , why not visit the cemetery and seek out the grave using the plot/grave reference? The gravestone may still exist. If you know the date of death but not the cemetery, before you trawl through through the burial registers, look through the BMD announcements in the local newspapers (also microfilmed) from the date of death onwards. The Liverpool Echo which started in 1879 was the most popular. The reported deaths invariably recorded the funeral arrangements; the time and place of burial.
