Possibly a bit of a long shot... but does anybody have this person in their family tree, or have any links with/knowledge of the family? James was born in Rock Ferry in 1872, the elder son of John (b 1845) and Ellen Janet (b 1848) whose maiden name was McKenzie. He married Elizabeth Clokie (from Yorkshire) in 1900 and they had at least four children - Elsie Jeanette, John Alexander, Hugh McDowall and Jessie Clokie. If anybody has any connections with the family... I have a photo of James taken in 1873 (bought for 2 Euro at a collectors' fare in Holland this afternoon). I'd love to find a good home for it (and maybe learn a bit more about the family in the process) Angelika
