Well worth catching this on tv if you can. Previously unseen footage taken from an airship during WW1. I assume it will then also be available on BBCiplayer for a time in case you can't see it tonight Sadly that facility is only available in the UK Marged The First World War from Above BBC1 9pm Sunday 7th November The post-First World War landscape of France and Belgium is often described as scarred, and Fergal Keane's documentary illustrates this very vividly indeed. In 1919 pilot Jacques Trolley de Prévaux guided his airship above the ravaged Western Front, and the 78-minute film that was shot during the journey was recently discovered in army archives in Paris. Keane follows the line of the Front to marvel at the grim brilliance of the British tunnels under Messines Ridge, and walks through the trenches preserved by landowners. There's a surprise emotional punch as he visits Trolley de Prévaux's daughter in Paris. No virus found in this outgoing message.
