Hi Walter Sorry to hear of your health problems, but good to see you back on the Merseyside list again after a long absence. :-) Many thanks for searching the Scotland's People data-base, even if this did prove fruitless. Wonder how complete their data-base is, and whether they're still adding to it? James GILBERTSON and Sarah POPLAR (the witnesses to Elizabeth TREVASKISS's wedding in 1848) married quite late in life in London, banns being read in the churches of Southwark St Thomas (James' parish) and Streatham St Leonard (Sarah's) on 28 August, 4 September & 11 September 1836, culminating in :- Marriage St Thomas, Southwark 22 September 1836 James GILBERTSON, bachelor, and Sarah Esther POPLAR, spinster Both signed the register Witnesses were William ARMSTRONG and Maria ARMSTRONG The bride's full names would appear to scotch my suggestion that she and John TREVASKISS's wife (Esther POPLAR) may have been sisters, but the indications are that they must have been related in some way? What sort of information were you hoping for concerning the Crosby Lightship c1850-1870? Since responsibility would at that time have come under the auspices of the MDHB, records of both personnel and vessel should be in the Merseyside Maritime Museum archives at Albert Dock. Let's know exactly what you want and I'll see what I can do? I did find quite a few GILBERTSON'S in Shetlands, but non of the correct F'nasme or Age, Census was a washout too for POPLAR. Sorry I've not been able to get on the List much since Jan' so I hope all Listers are Well? I've got to limit my time at the PC. due to Health problems, which have eased a bit just lately, but still have to be careful, Old Age, don't help much either. If there's Anything I can help with? Please let me know, and I'll do my best for you, and Anybody else for that matter. One question for Gordon, would you know anything about the "" CROSBY LIGHT SHIP ""? about 1850 TO 1870 ISH!? I've tried a number of searches but got nothing of any use. I'll need to leave it there for now, hope to hear from you soon? Walter, (SCOTLAND).
