    3. Hi Gordon Thanks for your imput on this (It,s good to have someone with a Logical Brain to help me sort it out ) I know that John Trevaskiss senior was Born in Plymouth Dock (Now Davenport ) c. 1785 From his Discharge from the Marines as a Corporal and ocupation  Taylor !st Child Ive found Elizabeth 3 Oct 181813 John 17 Apr. 1816  Bapt. St George In the East Stepney (my Gr Gr Grandfather ) William Boyn 17 Feb. 1818 St. Dunstan & All saints Stepney Henry          4 Feb 1821   St George In the East James        c 1829     Lpool Sarah Ann  c. 1831         "        Sarah Ann  c. 1834         "   I have been sent a Booklet of all the trial account and statements which is facinating reading especially the statements of all the Accused I think he understated his age to garner sympathy from the court (he was on Trial for his Life ) in his statement he mentions he was on the U.S. Cutter "Constelation "and homesick the "Constelation" was in Harbour 2/3 weeks befor William Johnson Joined the "Saladin" he states he had spent 3 years in the China Seas Chasing Pirates so not enough time to have another berth (I asume he jumped Ship and changed his name to join the Saladin and take the ill fated journey home We Also have a marriage Of Ann Boyne Trevaskiss to Peter Plowman 11 May 1818 at St Botolph Aldersgate  so the name Boyn could be further back than Esther  and a Sarah Ann Trevaskiss Married in New York and says her Mothers Maiden Name was Poplar ? William was also quoted as having several relatives living in London, one of them holding an office in Guy's Hospital, whereas we know that 'our' William's parents (John & Esther) + his brother John (b1816 Stepney) were living in Liverpool when the 1841 Census was taken. However, I've recently stumbled across several pieces of information which have caused me to change my mind, beginning with this baptism :- 27 October 1813 (born 3 October 1813) St Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, Kent Elizabeth, daughter of John & Esther TREVASKISS Abode - Woolwich Profession - Corporal of Marines Followed by this marriage :- 8 April 1848 St Thomas, Southwark, Surrey James YOUNG, of full age, bachelor, carpenter, residence  23 Weston Place, Bermondsey, father Joseph YOUNG (deceased), mason, and Elizabeth TREVASKISS, of full age, spinster, housekeeper, residence Guy's Hospital, father John TREVASKISS, tailor. Witnesses were a James GILBERTSON and Sarah POPLAR In the 1841 Census :- Guy's Hospital, London James GILBERTSON, 50, labourer, born Scotland Sarah GILBERTSON, 50, born Scotland Sarah POPLAR, 14, born Scotland In the 1851 Census :- Guy's Hospital, London James GILBERTSON, 60, labourer & Chelsea Pensioner, born Shetland Sarah, wife, 60, born Shetland Elizabeth POPLAR, niece, U, 22, servant, born Shetland Elizabeth YOUNG, niece, 2, born Southwark, Surrey The parish registers of St Olave, Bermondsey, have this baptism :- 25 March 1849 (born 4 February) Elizabeth, daughter of James & Elizabeth YOUNG Abode - Guy's Hospital Profession - carpenter So the indications are that James GILBERTSON's wife Sarah (born c1791 Shetland) and John TREVASKISS's wife Esther (born c1787 Scotland) were sisters? And had nieces Sarah POPLAR (c1827) and Elizabeth POPLAR (c1829), also born in Scotland? Wonder if anyone on this list has access to Scotland's People and might be able to help us here?
