    1. [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] William STOTT and Isabella HARDING
    2. Quite a while now since I last posted so fingers crossed for a good responce. One of the children of my g.grandparents William and Annie Stott (nee McNie) both of Birkenhead was William STOTT b.1893 Birkenhead. An Isabella HARDING b.1896 Birkenhead married a William STOTT in 1916 at Birkenhead. In a Commonwealth War Grave at Flaybrick Cemetery is a William STOTT b.1893 and died 23/1/1918 whilst demobilised from the RNVR Anson Brigade. I know that the William at Flaybrick is the son of William and Annie but am having doubts now about him being the husband of Isabelle Harding. I have a copy of his RNVR Discharge Paper and although his wife is shown as Isabelle the names quoted are STOTT and WALker. Is there anyone on the list who has family links to any of the above or anyone who can help at all. Thanks, Alan Siddorn

    3. Alan there are 2 STOTT births registered at Birkenhead with mmn HARDING....William in 1917 and Mabel Isabella in Decebmer quarter 1918. William died 23 Jan 1918 but Mabel could still be his child. If you get her birth certificate and her deceased father looks like your William then you should have your confirmation. I don't have any links to the family, but see that Family Search has the marriage on 16 December 1918, in Birkenhead St James, of an Isabella STOTT and a Hugh WALKER. Since the bride's father is given as William HARDING, this would appear to identify her as William STOTT's widow?
