    3. Hi Von Brilliant - and many thanks for posting this! Ties up many loose ends in my extended family tree, and seems to identify virtually all the Bidston, West Kirby and Hoylake SILCOCKs as descendants of this line. Isn't it just sod's law, though, that the one name missing from baptisms of children of Robert & Hannah in the CPRP data-base is your ancestor Robert SILCOCK born c1771/2? PS. Wife Dorothy managed to make it to her 66th birthday today. :-) Best Gordon From: "YvonnePurdy" <von@yvonnepurdy.free-online.co.uk> To: <ENG-MERSEYSIDE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2011 3:42 PM Subject: [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] Robert Silcock's will dated 21st May 1817 Hi all, I've just received the will of Robert SILCOCK of Barnston, late Farmer, dated 21 May 1817. Robert SILLCOCK married Hannah NEWPORT on 31 January 1761 at Bidston, and I'm now quite sure they are my 5 x great grandparents. He mentions £10 to his son Robert Silcock, his son Henry Silcock, his daughter Ann Richardson; one shilling to his daughter Elizabeth; all the rest of money and goods to his daughter Hannah for ever, and his son in law John Davies to be the whole and sole executor. Witnesses were Joseph Peers, John Evans and John Cookson. Kind regards, Yvonne

    3. Hi Gordon, I was a tad delighted to receive this will!! Now I've got a lot of work inputting all the details into my family tree!! Typically, Robert Silcock's c.1771/2 baptism is missing. The good lord certainly makes me work hard to identify my lot:-)), but at least the wills turn up trumps every now and again! I do wonder, 'tho, where are the Silcocks original origins? There don't seem to be many very early on, and I sometimes think, were they interchangeable with Simcocks in the early days? Please, can you identify any of the witnesses in the extended family? Also, please pass on my many birthday wishes to Dorothy. That's more than wonderful news to start 2011.
