Hi Marged, That's funny! I hope you gave back the rolled oats and got your rollos. He was probably teasing you or maybe misheard you. Have a good night Eleanor In a message dated 1/18/2011 7:01:04 P.M. Remember going into the shop at the end of WW2 and asking for a packet of Rollos (chocolate toffees, in case you don't know). Someone must have given me one - they were new, and sweets had been in very short supply. I was thrilled when Mr Huntington said "Yes, certainly" and reached behind the counter - but handed me a packed of ROLLED OATS (cereal/porridge). Marged (formerly of Edge Lane, Liverpool 7) Forgive me for becoming anecdotal! Hi Eleanor Wondered if you'd ever been in touch with Elaine Rosenberg in Queensland Australia (hopefully not under too much water just now!) who posted on this list for a while a few years ago, viz :- http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/eng-merseyside/2007-01/1169983 092 HUNTINGTON from Wirral & Liverpool being her family line, could she perhaps have snapped up the pics advertised on E-bay in 2005? He definitely did mishear me, Eleanor, mainly because he had probably never heard of Rollo. No, I didn't get them because they were not freely available in the shops for a very long time after this (about 1945/6). Sweets were still on the ration until 1953 -very little available - this was just wishful thinking on my part Marged That's funny! I hope you gave back the rolled oats and got your rollos.
