Thanks Gordon - I did remember to change the subject line once but then it slipped by again. It's a good point to remember. I found the Croppers living on their own in Lancaster Street, Kirkdale - no sign of the Pollitts, but perhaps they were away when the census was taken, although it does state "Head of Household" to be Mr Cropper. Very young. Marged Copyright restrictions preclude the reproduction of Find My Past material, but Ancestry's 1911 England Summary Books have a Mr POLLITT + one female living at 60 Lancaster Street, Kirkdale, with two CROPPER lodgers - one male & one female. The indications are that the householder is Manx-born James POLLITT, who in the 1901 Census was living at 72 Stanley Road, Kirkdale, along with daughter Louisa; and the lodgers William and Esther CROPPER (nee POLLITT) who married on 12 March 1911 in Liverpool St Timothy. Incidentally, many listers simply delete messages containing the words 'no subject' in the Subject heading, this being a favourite ploy of professional 'spammers'. Robert SILCOCK and Carole WILSON were my 4 x gt. Grandparents and married 4 July 1796 at St. Nicholas, Liverpool. Robert SILCOCK was buried 5 April 1846 at St. Bridget's, West Kirby aged 74, therefore born c.a. 1772. I cannot find a baptism for him in Cprd. I have just sent off for the will of Robert SILCOCK 1817 farmer of Barnston, who appears to have died 25 July 1817 of Barnston, buried Bidston, aged 88, but I wondered, in the meantime, if anyone has any further details of Robert SILCOCK (c1772)? Hi Gordon, I hope one day you'll be able to make the Cornelius Sherlock connection with your family. He certainly had a lot of lovely architecture in his portfolio especially the Picton Library and St. Stephen's. Just beautiful, I love looking at old architecture and their sculpted facades so I thank you for sharing these websites. The sculptures are wonderful; so much creativity and knowledge in these pages. I hope to be able to visit Liverpool and Wirral down the road and hopefully walk down the same streets and enter the same churches as my ancestors as well as see these magnificent buildings in person. Hi Eleanor The best way to solve this would be to see the marriage certificates and check fathers name. Samuel christened 9th May 1838 is the son of Samuel & Sarah according to the Cheshire Parish record on Familysearch whilst the Samuel born Salford looks to be the son of Thomas & Isabella.. Whilst Thomas isn't at home with Isabella on the 1851 census he is in 1861. I would say that the Samuel who married Lydia is the son of Thomas & Isabella.
