    3. Women over 30 were given the right to vote in 1920, women over 21 got the vote in 1930 or 1931. Paul -----Original Message----- From: ALUN883@aol.com [mailto:ALUN883@aol.com] Sent: 12 July 2006 11:12 To: ENG-MERSEYSIDE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ENG-MERSEY] Electoral rolls As far as I know the electoral roll is the document which will include all who are eligible to vote in an election and where they are residing at the time of the election. At first I believe only the gentlemen in the house were on it but I believe after about 1918 the woman were included [if date is incorrect I am sure some lister will be able to inform us]. Believe all electoral rolls may be held by the relevant councils where the elections were held. If there is any lister who might be able to give further information, please do so. 3. I have details of a DODD family which came to Bebington in the 1800's from the Malpas/Bickerton area of Cheshire where DODD is an extremely common name. Most settled in the Bebington area but I have not followed many distantly related members of the family who I believe lived in Rock Ferry, Birkenhead and Liverpool. Thre are at least six researchers interested in this particular DODD family. My own interest is in Sarah DODD who married into the LEDSOME family in Hr. Bebington who was the daughter of Henry DODD, born Bickerton. He had a brother Samuel who also came to Bebington with him and his parents, Richard and Sarah DODD. There are probably other siblings but I have not researched them.. My contacts came either from the Cheshire Mailing List or Genesreunited which is a useful source of potential family members.
