I have a photo of the pupils and teachers at Arnot St School circa 1913 when my Mum was a pupil there if anyone is interested. Margaret in Australia.

Just done the bulk of the work on alphabetical lists of schools. Links and photos are still attached to the denominational pages, and the site search is still not 100%, but it's getting there. Thanks to the many people who have sent me corrections and further information. New to the site: lists of teachers in 1800 and 1810, as well as additions to 1911. Thanks again to everyone who was helped - Paul Goodman, Terry Heath, Joan Caldicott, John Williams, Ruth Jennings, Francisca Fearon, John Hardy, Jane, Dave Wood, Linda Mason, Fionn, Sue Rylands, Ronald Johnson and anyone else I may have missed. The links should be completed by the end of the week. As usual, any corrections / information / pictures etc. . Enjoy your Sundays Rachel
We have all benefited in one way or another from Jane Campbell's snippets on www.old-merseytimes.co.uk You will be pleased to hear that Jane's pages have been voted site of the week in Family Tree Magazine http://www.familytreemagazine.com/index.asp?goto=closead Marged __
Hello Peter, Thanks for your Mail, but I don't think we have a connection, my William I have as B. 1827. he and Elizabeth, B.1836. had, John Edward, B.1865. Ernest, B.1866. Agnes,1868. Cicely, B.1869. Walter,B.1871.(My G'dad). Florence,B.1873. and that as far as I know is their family. As you see we are a bit apart, but we have to keep plugging away, so I wish you the best of luck, and Take Care. G'day from OZ As I have had no answer to my request for info on CLARKSON in Rochdale,I will try Emily PARKER b. 1879, who married Thomas KERSHAW. I have no other info and would like to know if there is anyone who might be connected. Any info would be appreciated. Regards Audrey from OZ
Hello Peter,My William (James) FLETCHER was born in c1853 possibly in either Lancashire or Cheshire. My Dad was very reticent on the subject of his Grandfather. I will look up your Miriam and William on the Ancestry census and see if I can come up with any connections. I am clutching at straws! My William's son was William James born 1875. his mother was Alice Hannah Austin. After the birth of their son I have no more info on William Fletcher. My Dad was also William James Fletcher born 1902 and my older brother William James was born and died in 1931. My Mum was Edith COE born 1908. I don't know of any Fletchers of mine who went to Canada. Not much help to you I know! Margaret in Australia.
Thank you Margaret - Let's hope that we can solve this mystery. William and Miriam gave birth to a daughter Norma in I guess the late twenties or early thirties. In the 1901 UK Census, my Grandfather (John Ernest Flack) is recorded as living at 5 Leicester Street, Birkenhead. He is a servant to the head of the family, James Edwards, Licensed Victualler and in brackets, (Pub) and my Grandfather is shown as Barman. As far as I can see, Leicester Street no longer exists. Do we have any experts who would know the name of the Pub and would it be possible to get a photo? Thanking you in anticipation, Tony Flack Hereford
There has been some discussion on the Liverpool list about Irish children being shipped out to Australia, and someone sent this note, which others may find interesting. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Irish+Famine+Orphans+Memorial%2C+Sydney&btnG=Google+Search&meta= Marged Marged and others, If you google Irish Famine Orphans Memorial, Sydney, you will find quite a bit on them, there is a memorial at the old Sydney Barracks, lists some of them, (found my lady there), then found her on the ship "The Lady Peel", sometimes it said in comments column, who paid, if indented where they went..... Margaret: I have a William Fletcher who married a Miriam Donohoe (b. 30 Aug 1893) in about 1913 or 1914. The marriage then broke up and it is suspected that he went to Canada. Any chance that there is a connection with your Fletchers? G'Day all, I am looking for any info on the families, CLARKSON, and JEFFS and I was wondering if anyone else may be able to help. Also, anyone who may have the name Birtha/Bertha Parker on their family tree. These families are from the Rochdale area. Regards Audrey from OZ
Hi I'm trying to trace a William Burnett who was born in Liverpool in c1848. All I know is that he was married twice, the first marriage may have been to a Sarah Parker but his second marriage I am sure was to Annie Cook in Carlisle. His father was a Lieutenant in the 11th Regt of Foot also called William Burnett. Can anyone help with this enigma? Thanks Sarah
