    1. [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] HAND & CO PRINTERS circa 1885 - 1929??
    2. Charlie Hand
    3. Good Morning I believe my Gt Grandfather Charles Robert HAND founded this company, can anyone tell me where it was located or any other info? He was reported as being the owner of a painting known as "the missing rubens" in 1929. Can anyone shed any light on the history of this painting where it came from or where it might be displayed now? 3. So you can! : - >> - they have obviously revamped the site and introduced this limited free search facility since I last looked at the site. But you get very limited information from your free search - only surname and initials of living clergy and no further biographical details apart from present post/retired though if you know your churches you can find out roughly where they are. But if it's a common name, you have no means of telling which is which. 3. Here is a note that Jan asked me to forward to the list following responses to my request for help on her behalf. Cheers, Jeff Jeff I have always been told that people "up North" were friendly and helpful - well the point has certainly been proven over the last few days - and I am so delighted with the response. As I am not subscribed to this list would it be appropriate/possible for you to put out a general thank you on my behalf - or even post this message to them if it would be easier for you? I shall be ordering William's death certificate pronto and my nephew who is Frank Charles Lewis Allsop, will think I am a genius for finding the information so swiftly!! Could I also be very cheeky and say that if anyone who reads this thinks they have a connection, I would be delighted to hear from them. Wm Herbert had a twin sister - Mabel, and other siblings including (Dr) Frederick Charles Lewis, and another set of twins Beatrice Blanche and Louis Gilbert. Their parents were Thomas William Lewis and Fanny Rebecca, nee Herbert. Kind regards and many, many thanks to you all. Jan Coleman Kinver, West Midlands
