    1. [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] Francis William Hazlehurst RICHARDS and wife Sarah Ann BURGESS
    2. Wendy
    3. Hi Merseyside Listers, I am looking for anyone descended or connected with the following people. Francis William Hazlehurst RICHARDS, son of James Monro and Mary RICHARDS. Francis was born c1834 in Stepney, his mother's maiden name HAZLEHURST. Francis was a mariner and later a labourer, he lived in a number of places in Toxteth, Woodruff St, Williams Place , Beresford Road, Rankin St and Beloe St. Him and Sarah always seem to be living with a Robert and Mary BURGESS, who exact relationship to Sarah is not known as such. Sarah Ann BURGESS, born c1843 Norwich, Norfolk. Always consistent in censuses with age and place of birth, however although her birth points to being a child of John and Sarah Burgess (Sarah, the mother previously married to Robert BURGESS, cousin to her husband John). The indications are that Sarah could be a child/sister of a Robert BURGESS. PROBLEM NO MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE FOUND FOR THIS MARRIAGE. Finding this would hopefully tell me exactly who Sarah's father is as at this moment in time there are queries around her parentage. WOULD LIKE... I'd like to hear from anyone descended from Francis and Sarah RICHARDS. The family stayed in Toxteth and their surviving children are as follows 1. William Robert Martin Hazlehurst RICHARDS bn 1875 2. Mary Ann RICHARDS bn 1865 married to Edward Jones GRIFFITHS, aka Edward David Griffith-Jones, David Griffith-Jones married in 1885 St Thomas Church 3. Elizabeth Ann RICAHRDS bn 1872 married to Thomas HAYES 1890 St Thomas's Church. Two children Sarah and Thomas 4. Francis Frederick RICAHRDS bn 1879 married to Lavinia Mary DAVIS bn 1881-1882 , one known child Francis Alfred RICAHRDS BN 1900 5. Gertrude Florence RICAHRDS bn 1882 married James SCOTT in 1915 Birkenhead. Thank you, but I don't need look ups on any census as I have these, also have baptisms and various certs, except the one mentioned if it exists. If you are related to these people I would like to hear from you. Wendy

    1. Re: [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] Liverpool Records Office - Question about Burialrecords organisation.
    2. John Hardy
    3. Hi Pete, The burial registers are microfilmed, and provide only limited information:- name, age, last address of deceased, minister who performed ceremony, date of interment and plot/grave reference in cemetery. It wont show any previous interments in that particular grave. However, assuming you find the burial record , why not visit the cemetery and seek out the grave using the plot/grave reference? The gravestone may still exist. If you know the date of death but not the cemetery, before you trawl through through the burial registers, look through the BMD announcements in the local newspapers (also microfilmed) from the date of death onwards. The Liverpool Echo which started in 1879 was the most popular. The reported deaths invariably recorded the funeral arrangements; the time and place of burial. Regards, John Hardy. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 03, 2008 8:54 PM Subject: [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] Liverpool Records Office - Question about Burialrecords organisation. > Hello, > We've planned a visit to Liverpool records office very shortly. 3. Hi Pete >From my experience: Burial records are by date of burial, at least for cemeteries. I think that the grave records, showing who is buried in each grave, are with the cemeteries office - they will need these when further burials are requested. Allerton cemetery opened in 1909. 1. [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] Liverpool Records Office - Question about Burial records organisation.
    2. Hello, We've planned a visit to Liverpool records office very shortly. I've heard conflicting things about how the burial records are organised. A lady at the records office said they're organised in terms of surname. However online I read that they're in order of burial date, which sounds more likely. Can anybody shed some light on what to expect? I'm taking all the documention and findings with me but wondered if a little extra prep somewhere might pay off. A couple of questions if I may. We know the exact date of death and cemetery of one particular family member. Assuming that we find the burial record, will it then show who else is buried in the same plot? If we know the exact date of death of a family member, and that it was in Garston, but not the burial place, how easy is it to look through various cemetery records to try to find it? I'm assuming that with it being Garston and 1899 the first place to look would be Allerton Cemetery. Pete
