Hi George Not sure I'd be prepared to shell out megabucks to a London researcher just to prove I was related to a thug who'd butchered a sea-captain, his wife and an unspecified number of innocent children whilst they slept in their beds. :-) The family someone on another list found for you in the 1881 Canadian Census, by the way, appears to be this one 30 years earlier :- HO 107/2181 folio 704 page 73 Crump Street, Liverpool Richard TREVASKE, 45, blacksmith, born Cornwall Martha, wife, 42, Cornwall Richard, son, 15, blacksmith, Cornwall Mary, daur, 14, Cornwall Elizabeth, daur, 12, Cornwall John, son, 10, Cornwall (says 12 in Census, but was 4 months old in 1841) William, son, 8, Cornwall Martha, daur, 4, Cornwall Thomas [Henry], son, 5 months, born Liverpool Looks as though they might have been on the way from Cornwall to Canada when the youngest was born in Liverpool? Hi Gordon I employed a Researcher in London who found William Trevaskiss Baptism and birth in St. Dunstans Stepney with John as father and mother as Esther with John,s occupation as a Taylor so I accept he was the Brother to John and Henry born and baptised in St. George in the East Stepney ether side of William. The only thing was he gave his age at his trial as b. 1820-1 and Leaving Liverpool to go to sea at 12 the William found for me was B.& bapt. 1818 so he might have been trying for sympathy at his trial because his statement said he had scant education at the free school in liverpool or William b.1818 died and they named anothe son William he also said he had a sister (Esther ) still living in Liverpool as he heard from her by the Packet ship .And an Aunty in London and a sister in service with an overseer or Manager in Guy,s Hospital Enough for me to accept him while I look further at the free schools in Liverpool at the time his father was a resident at Kirkdale and Lancaster Prisons so William could have recieved Free education the researcher is still looking for the rest of the family in London Cheers George Hi George I saw mention of it on another list, but don't recall there being any conclusive evidence to link the Pirate with your direct TREVASKISS line - just a suggestion that he may have lived in Liverpool at some time? Your TREVASKISS's are of course in my own extended family tree by virtue of the marriage in 1866 (in Liverpool St Peter) of John TREVASKISS (b1844 Liverpool) and Caroline TURTLE (b1847 Liverpool). In 1913 (in Prescot) Caroline's 1st cousin once removed George Edwin TURTLE (b1887 Tranmere) married Elizabeth LACEY (b1884 Sutton St Helens). Elizabeth LACEY's grandmother was Elizabeth EVANS (b1843 Liscard), who is my 1st cousin three times removed. Does anyone use John Burns's 'Lancashire Surnames' list? I can access it but it seizes up and scroll will not work. Is anyone else having this problem? David

Hello I have had to move my Allerton cemetery and other web sites. Their new addresses are: Allerton Cemetery http://www.allertoncemetery.bravehost.com/ Brockhall Hospital and its Cemetery http://www.brockhallhospital.bravehost.com/ Ormandy family history http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ormandy/ Alternatively they can all be accessed via http://www.jeffandjan.com which will still work if I have to move them again. Cheers, Jeff
