    1. [ENG-MERSEYSIDE] CORBETT-LOWE
    2. David Railton
    3. Mary Josephine CORBETT-LOWE was born in 1913 at Bromborough the daughter of William Sydney CORBETT-LOWE and Norah Dingwall BATESON who had married in Liverpool in 1907. The CORBETT-LOWE family home was 'Ashburton' on Manorial Road, Parkgate and later at Bidston Road, Oxton. Mary married Captain (later Lt Colonel) David Ronald HUNTER of the Liverpool Scottish Regiment at St Saviours, Oxton on 30th March 1940. I am interested in Mary's flying career in WWII. In 1939 she obtained her pilot's licence and during war was in the Air Transport Auxiliary. Does anyone know of her? David

    3. Hello Val I am truly sorry you are saying goodbye to the lists and hope that you will find time to perhaps keep in touch off list. Over the years, we have got to know each other quite well - I wish you all the very best in the new branch of your career. Marged Hi to Marged and all on the Eng- Merseyside & Eng-Liverpool lists, just to say a goodbye and thanks for the help and friendship over the years. I'm now well enough to return to nursing and have this week started back in practice at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital. I'm also starting another Uni course at Edge Hill, Aintree so unfortunately I have to leave my family history here for some time. I've spent many years exploring my roots and met a lot of great people on the lists along the way but I need to devote a considerable amount of time to my new role and Uni course so so it's time to say farewell to you all for now. Thanks to everyone, keep digging and the best of luck to you all. Best wishes, Val Wall (k/a Val in Lancs). ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Sorry but my earlier message seemed to have become a bit garbled, my fault; it should have read: Reference the message from Gordon below.
