Thanks Antony - I know my aunt was living in Manchester in early 1945 and there are some electoral rolls for 1945, so am hoping I hit pay dirt. I emailed the site and they have forwarded my request to the Local Studies Library. I am not sure if they will look up for me or not, but worth a shot. I live in Canada and am therefore unable to visit the office myself. And yes I do realize they had other things on their mind at the time besides electoral roles!
