My grandfather was a foreman silk dyer in Macclesfield in the 30's and 40's at Abraham's Dye Works. My father always said we had some Huguenot ancestry but I haven't been able to find any links. I have wondered if they spread out from Spitalfields after coming to the UK from Europe and ended up in Cheshire.
