Hi List I have traced my Travis family back to George Travis who died in 1584 and who left a property in Deansgate to his son George.He was buried in Manchester Cathedral on 9th December 1584. His father John Travis was the first Minister of Blackley Chapel and I think was born in Failsworth By coincidence my cousin's daughter has a fiancee whose surname is Travis and I have trace his family back to Thomas Travis who married a Katherine Hill and he died at Blackley in 1597 and is also buried in Manchester Cathedral. The earliest Thomas Travis I found (Christening 17 AUG 1561 Middleton By Oldham) I feel sure that both our families are probably linked but I just need that piece of the jigsaw to make the connection. Does anyone know what Manchester resources I can access to confirm this. regards Julie
