    3. I am extremely grateful to both sites. However, Ancestry always trumps FMP with its search engine. The flexibility in allowing for wildcard searching across the board is essential as far as I'm concerned, especially with the spelling of surnames. FMP allows for address searches in all the census they have uploaded and they have a wide range of parish records to search (although Ancestry does MUCH better in the Lancashire stakes). While I can afford to have access to both sites, I'll continue to do so. I can't bear to even think about the day when I'd have to choose between them, but I guess I'd go for Ancestry.
