Hi Joanne,no luck with the street, but FamilySearch has a marriage 31 May 1829 at St Peter, Liverpool--- George Rimmer and Susannah Howard, I looked on Lancashire opc but couldn't find it on there although there are listings for that year. HTH,Anne ----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Joanne Humphrey <joanne1humphrey@gmail.com> To: eng-manchester@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, 12 April 2013, 9:03 Subject: [ENG-MAN] Gracious Street, Eccleston I believe I have the death certificate of my 3 x great grandfather George Rimmer in Eccleston, Prescot in 1846. This man has proved extremely elusive and I have been trying to look up the address at which he died in 1841 or 1851, but Find My Past doesn't seem to have a listing for Gracious Street. The writing is pretty clear, and in any case I have done some wildcard searches and can't find anything like Gracious Street. Does anyone know this area well and if so, can you please suggest where this address might be? George and his family were in Eccleston in 1841 but the address is no more specific than that. Sadly, the marriage of George and his wife, Susannah Howard, has escaped me and they don't seem to have registered any of their children's births, so all I have pertaining to George is a handful of christenings and the fact that his widowed mother, Isabella appears to be with him in 1841. Many thanks Joanne :-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~: Except for personal messages, please post replies to the list. Other people can learn from them! Be sure list mail is in PLAIN TEXT. Hi Anne Thank you very much for this. As I said in my email to Jordan, I have been searching for this marriage for many years and had only really focused my search on the St Helens area. I still dont know how I could possibly have missed it on Family Search. The Howard family was in Eccleston for many decades before this marriage and I have seen gravestones which confirm this, so it is likely the Rimmers who were from Liverpool. This certainly gives me a new line of enquiry for parents of George. Best regards Joanne :-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~: Except for personal messages, please post replies to the list.
