I have not used Ancestry for a while and now I've come back to it but there seems to have been a lot of changes. I've tried Family Search but that has all changed too. I would be glad of some of your opinions on good sites. Best wishes to you all Carol <snip> HI Carol As others have said, both of the sites are useful, but different; it all depends on what you want and what you are looking for. At the moment I use ancestry more because they have some useful (for me) Parish records before the 1837 introduction of state BMD registrations. But 'find my past' had some census records that ancestry didn't. I find FreeBMD the best (and free) for Births, Marriages and Deaths post 1837. When I was having problems finding one of my ancestors and contacted the group, someone found him on 'Family Search'; his name had been mis-spelt in a variation that the other two sites had missed. My husband used 'Family Search' a lot before they re-vamped it; apparently you can still get to the old Wallace front end, but I'm not sure how, as I've never used it. Ancestry's search engine is very broad and unfathomable at times, and fmp's is very exact! Both ancestry and fmp do free trials - why not sign up for a trial and see which is most useful? Glynis
