His son JAMES CARRINGTON (born 1826) lived in various parts of central Manchester,... Glynis ...... There is a christening of James on FamilySearch at Manchester Cathedral 5 Mar 1826, son of Isaac and Hannah.... I have found the Ancestry image for that but Ancestry indexes it as CANNINGTON,.... Christine > Thanks, Christine. From my copy of JAMES CARRINGTON's marriage certificate I got his father's name of Isaac. Isaac is a fairly unusual first name, so I am convinced that the christening record you found is the correct one. I read the record as CARRINGTON, not CANNINGTON, as I was taught an old-fashioned way of 'joined-up' writing and it looked very much like what is in the records! It's really great to get another piece of the jigsaw into place, the help is much appreciated. I hadn't thought of that particular mis-spelling of the name! Glynis
