I am trying to work out whether a family I have found in Norden, Lancs in 1901 might be the parents and siblings of my great grandfather, William Humphrey. William was an itinerant labourer who went all over the country wherever there was work. The distances he travelled were so great (County Durham, Leicestershire, Kent, Essex, Lancashire) that I feel there must have been something in addition to work that took him to these areas. The possible family I have found in the 1901 census was living at 552 Edenfield Road, Cheesden (I think I am reading that correctly) in Norden. At that time William and his young family was living in Lane End, Norden. I have found Edenfield Road on modern maps but I can't find Lane End and I wondered if someone with local knowledge might be able to tell me if Lane End was or is near to Edenfield Road.
