Hello, this is my first post to this list. I have a baptism in 1681 at Eccles St Mary where the residence is given as Kempnough. I can't find this place in Cassell's Gaz, the large map of Lancashire that I have (one of Andrew Todd's), or by googling, although I do get Kempnough Hall which is near Salford? Could someone locate this place for me? There were Duncalfs (and variants) in this area from the 1500s, and some of the Bowdon (Cheshire) Duncalfs were in Gorton and Didsbury. One died in Stretford. I wonder whether this could be another stray from the same family. Incidentally, if anyone on this list is researching Duncalf or any of the variants I would be very pleased to hear from them.
