Dear fellow research hounds.. I really need help finding a marriage record between Ellen (or Eleanor) EDMONDS (Edmunds) b 1829 and James PICKERING b 1831 that appears to have been recorded in Salfords St Simons church on Springfield Road. What Im looking for is her father and mothers names. I can't see any microfilm records for St Simons anywhere so I have to appeal to some kind soul who might have access to local records. I think a copy of the register is available at Salford Local Family History Centre. In an old booklet Parish Register Holdings at Salford Local History Library, they seem to have the C of E Registers for St Simon's Church, Salford, marriages 1849>1926. What I suspect is her father was Charles Edmonds and mother Mary Ellen Grundy What we know: Marriage: 1859 - Salford, St. Simon (between Oct>Dec) Ellen EDMUNDS and James PICKERING 1861 census entry for this couple: 11 East Philip Street, Salford, (Greengate) James PICKERING 30 Chemical Manufactory b.Cheshire, Churton Ellen wife 30 Manchester, Lancs. Mary A dau. 5 b.Salford John son 2 months b.Salford I have been unable to locate a birth for a Mary A Pickering but there is one for a Mary Ann EDMONDS b.1856 Salford, Greengate area John was reg. as John Pickering in March Q/1861 Salford (Greengate) Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
