Can anyone tell me what the 40th foot regiment - the Second Somersetshire - was doing from about 1815 to 1824, at which time they left for Australia? I need to locate muster records for my Charles Edmonds b 17 Oct 1799 in Isle Abbott, Somersetshire and for the life of me, I can't find anything. Can anyone help? Have you tried the LDS? I was able to find a relative's full naval records, first by renting the index, and then the appropriate film.
