I have my Granddad's birth certificate (dob 17 August 1891 in Hulme). His mother is named as Annie WALKER formerly JONES. His father is named as John WALKER a Lurry Driver. This has been a brick wall, so today I searched for his Baptism at Central Library. He was christened at Hulme on the 2 Sept 1891 and all details are the same EXCEPT his mother is named as Clara! (no previous surname given) I cannot find a marriage to Annie or Clara. Has anyone any idea why the names might be different? (He boarded with another family from an early age and eventually adopted a different surname.) Pat W
