Hello Kergan, Chorlton Cum Hardy in 1829 was mainly countryside with a few large homes. It would be a long journey by horse to get into central Manchester and some of the hospitals. So maybe he was born there and moved at a later date. Unless he was performing his duties as a doctor at the local military barracks in Hulme named Cavalry Barracks. This would have been a short distance from Chorlton cum Hardy.
