Hi folks, Can anyone help me find a family who lived in Collyhurst or Harpurhey 1851/1861 please? Again this is a glass manufacturer. His name is William YATES. I don't know how old he would be but I imagine he would be born about 1810, give or take 10 years. I don't know where he was born but I have no reason to think he was born outside England or Scotland. I have 2 addresses for him, found in an archaeology study done on the glassworks which he operated. The addresses apparently come from directories. > 1855 > Thomas Vickers and his wife (the sister of William Yates) lived at > Wrighley House, Collyhurst Road. > William Yates lived next door to at Mount Pleasant House, > Collyhurst Road, Collyhurst I presume that should read "...next door to him at..." > 1864 > William Yates lived at Green Mount, Harpurhey > I would like to find William YATES and his sister who married Thomas VCKERS. I don't know anything about his sister. Thomas VICKERS was his partner at the glassworks. I have tried both 1851 and 1861, searching "Manchester" and born about 1810 +- 5 years, "Head" - no result. Are Harpurhey and Collyhurst both covered by "Manchester" in the 1851 and 1861 censuses? Any thoughts would be welcome. Sally in Yorkshire
