Hi Rob, The Hulme Cavalry Barracks would have been there from 1799 because the 23rd Regiment of Light Dragoons was stationed there before leaving to fight at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 Regards Rick. I'm wondering if he may have been employed here. Can anyone tell me when the barracks opened? I have conflicting information as early as 1799 or as late as 1817. I'm also wondering if there are any records which indicate which units were stationed here or records of trades employed there? Would anyone be able to email me any maps of the barracks? Many thanks Rob ~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ Except for personal messages, please post replies to the list.
