    3. It still may be that he had died . I have quite a few marriage certificates on which it does not say deceased and I have later found out that he was . I believe it was up to the individuals marrying as to whether they put deceased against their fathers name. Hope this helps, regards Kath --- On Sat, 9/8/08, ROB SHEPHERD <robshepherd1974@googlemail.com> wrote: > From: ROB SHEPHERD <robshepherd1974@googlemail.com> > Subject: [ENG-MAN] Census Mystery - any help appreciated > To: "eng-manchester-l" <ENG-MANCHESTER-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: Saturday, 9 August, 2008, 1:40 PM > I wonder if any fellow listers can help with a puzzle? > > I am interested in the Ashelby family of Manchester. > > I know the father of the family was William Ashelby, and I > have the marriage > certificates of several children > > 1840 Eliza Ashelby (address given as 68 Bloom Street) > 1849 Ann Ashelby (address given as Oldham Road) > 1849 Jane Ashelby (address given as 30 Hart Street) > 1853 Margaret Ashelby (address given as 30 Hart Street) > > I'm assuming that at least some of these addresses > would also have applied > to William Ashelby.
