    3. Thank you all who have answered and Elsie, The Verdon Roe issue is a complex one but actually easy to follow.Yes,William Verdon the Minister dies and his Widow,Sophia marries Richard Roe,a surgeon and a Gen. Practitioner who lives in Church Street,Eccles. They have both been married before and both have children though the only Verdon child on the 1861 census with them is Anna Sophia, born and Ch in 1847 in Salford. One of the previous born Roe children is Edwin H. who is a Medical pupil and also with them on the 1861 census.Neither of these are in any way connected genetically and they marry...hence Sir Edwin Alliot Verdon-Roe....yes and then AVRO. My connection is Anna Sophia,Sir Edwins' mother. Her father,William Verdon is brother to my Gr.Gr.Grandmother, Frances Charlotte Verdon.Thats why l would love to find William and Sophia on the 1861.l initially started this search looking also for Anna Sophias' brother,Henry Walter Verdon, who is not with his remarried mother in 1861 but at the Manchester Grammar according to old family letters. It's a very interesting family to trace, thanks for your interest,Pauline in Australia.
