I am hoping to locate further info. about this family and descendants of the POLLARDS, who appear to have been in Man. for a long time. William POLLARD died in Man. in 1899. Here’s his baptism entry: Baptisms: 7 Jun 1837 Collegiate, Manchester, Lancashire, England William Pollard - Son of Henry Pollard & Mary Ann Born: 21 Mar 1837 Abode: Ardwick Occupation: Salesman Baptised by: Henry Fielding Vicar Register: Baptisms 1837, Page 399, Entry 3185 Source: FHL 1545611 I found the family in the 1841 census and found William in the remaining ones including 1891. He married Catherine (Kate) WELSH in 1859 in London and they had one child, Clara Emily Pollard, born 1865 in Hoxton, London. William’s second wife was Mary PODMORE of Man., dau. of Enoch P. of Cheshire and Ellen GORMAN of Man. The marriage took place in Man. in 1885 and their daughter, Nellie was born in Man. in 1888.
