Pauline It's possible your ancestor's census record was in that part of the census which was damaged. Some of my ancestors are mising off the 1851 census for the same reason. Try getting in touch with Lancehster adn Lancashire Family History Society to see whether Peel Street had been inclused in the restoration of the damaged records. Dorothy
