It is probably of no use to you but I remember my father telling me, as we passed the aeroplane manufacturing plant of A.V. Roe, that he was a relative of ours. I assume he might be something to do with the Roes of Eccles. My grandmother Tamara Roe was the wife of my grandfather Holding (Holden). Eccles might be a good place to look.
