Hi, My name is Terry Craven and I am re-subscribing after an absence of about 18month. I live in Melbourne Australia but was born in Harpurhey Manchester. I didn't take an interest in my ancestry until my grandkids started asking questions. Unfortunately They lost interest, while I on the other hand was totally sucked in. I have learnt a lot about people Past and present, about places and history and about myself. No regrets at all :-) My name interests are : CRAVEN, MCGANNITY, BOSWELL, RILEY, SMITH (two lines :-( . At the moment I am trying to find the location of Melville Street, Harpurhey, M/c. I know it no longer exists and I am aware that many other streets, lanes and roads have gone. In 1916 when my grandmother Ellen McGannity was married she was living at 46 Staveley Street, Harpurhey. prior to then she was living at 15 Melville Street, Harpurhey, (1901 census). I have a sneaking suspicion that these two streets could have been one and the same at some time? Any information, ideas or maps would be very welcome. All the best, Terry
