Hi list, Sorry,l must be tired, its the 1851 census that l am looking for William Verdon,[Rev.] ,who is a Minister and lives at 25 Peel Street,Salford, but l cannot locate him on census,l am now assuming he is on the water-damaged section, thank you all for your patience,Pauline.
Hi Pauline, Peel Street is in the Greengate area of Salford - I've checked my copy of the 1851 unfilmed census CD and unfortunately the return for # 25 is blank - it must have been too badly damaged even for the marvellous transcribers of the Man. and Lancs. F.H.S. The piece # is HO 107 2223 - E.D.I0 (Letter "I" numeral "0"), book ref.3C - page 18 - perhaps someone with the original census on disc could check this ref - they might be able to decipher a little more knowing what they are searching for, fingers crossed.
