Hello Listers , I'm hoping someone can help me please.I'm looking for William & Mary Ann Broadley. It seems i have been looking at the wrong Mary Ann[nee Wright] I now believe her maiden name was Lowndes. They had a son Samuel in 1873 sub district of Ancoats Manchester.I have been told they had 2 other sons William and Frederick. But the mystery is that Mary Ann was supposed to have brought an illegitamite son into the marriage, but we don't know his name . I found a Joseph on the 1871 census with a William & Mary Ann and son William who I thought may be him, but cannot find any births for a Joseph Lowndes to a Mary Ann anywhere. Also I sent away for birth certificates [ I found this family in the 1881 census]for William born 1866 but his mother was Mary Howe. I have ordered her marriage cert as I have found a marriage to a William . In both certs William is a Cotton Overlocker which is correct. Then I received a birth cert for Frederick born may 1880 and his mother was Mary Kennedy. A different name again !!!! They were living at 24 Peel st in 1881 census and I thought this was my family that I was chasing Now I believe that Mary ann's maiden name was Lowndes so her youngest child William's birth cert should have the name nee Lowndes instead of Howe.As I can't find a marriage for Broadley & Lowndes , I don't know where to look next. I would be grateful if any one can come up with suggestions. Now anybody reading this is as confused as me. Many Thanks Cheri Greenlaw
