Thanks for the direction Jane. I have now looked at the site. Would the same information be available through IFHF - or should I purchase these from Manchester City Council? Hi Ellen http://www.burialrecords.manchester.gov.uk/faq.asp#4 this tells you all about the costs, in my opinion they are too high for too little information, if you are wanting the death certificates, the burial records will only help you by telling you the grave number and who else is in the grave so you can be more sure of ordering the right certificate. The best thing to do is cross reference, for example: Burial records site: Robert McKee 1893 Phillips Park Cemetery Robert McKee 1894 Phillips Park Cemetery Deaths on Freebmd: Robert McKee aged 40 Dec qtr 1893 Manchester vol 8d page 162 Robert McKee aged 1 Jun qtr 1894 Manchester vol 8d page 142 You can order certificates here http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ with just the information from freebmd. The 1893 Robert McKee death may well be yours, as the age of death gives he a birth year of 1853. Hope this helps.
