Thank you Kathleen for the info in the 1929 Manchester directory re my grandfather and his business. I shall put these two items away for visiting when I get to Manchester next April. I looked up Chandos road and it appears to be in the Whalley Range area. I wonder why it was listed as Chorlton cum Hardy ?, this ran from the north across Wilbraham Road. This was not far from Alexander Park and Alexander road. He could have caught the bus to get to the office.
