Hi Helen My dad was in the National Children's Home orphanage at Edgworth Lancashire from 1906 and when I wrote to them for his record my letter was answered from the National Children's Home and Orphanage London. They sent me all the original records they had in his file including birth cert. hand written letters from his older sister and a letter he had written to them after he left. So maybe that's worth a try.
