St Mary's Bury Parish records for 1750 show that - Thomas YORK son of William YORK a traveller was baptised on 1st April 1750. Thomas married Jane BURY at Eccles Parish Church in September 1781 they had 9 children all baptised at Peel Nr Worsley and their descendants lived in the Worsley area until the beginning of the 20th Century including 4 generations of Miners. To research further I need to know more of WILLIAM the traveller to find out where he went after his son was baptised. I have tried the various records without success, would be grateful for any help. TIA Lorita Paisley nee YORK

    3. Hi Lorita, You've probably already tried this, but if you put surname York, father William birth 1750+-20 years on familysearch beta and gradually extend the counties of England from Lancashire (no more than Thomas) to Cheshire (none) Westmorland (none) Cumberland (none) then try Northumberland (lots) Yorkshire (lots as you'd expect!) Lincolnshire (lots)and so on it might give you a feel for which counties to begin your searches. You could then ask your question on the lists there and see what comes up? Just a thought!
