    3. Dear Judith, James and Emily were my great grandparents. They lived in The Avenue, Granville, NSW up until the time of their deaths. Walter Charles Ellis Monks, b 1902 Granville, the last born of the family, was my grandfather. I have been in contact with the Glynn HIBBERT in the UK, who is a descendant on that side of the family. My Mum, although just a young child at the time, still remembers Emily because she wasn't allowed to visit her in the hospital at the time when she was dying of facial cancer. Some time ago I set up a MONKS family mailing list / group at yahoo hoping to attract some more help but you're only the second one who shown any interest on our clan. It's at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Monks_Family/ Look in the files section for ALL the MONKS entries in the Sands post office directory In 2012 I hope to visit Glynne and also Manchester. I am quite happy to exchange documentation of list, since the list cannot process attachments. Have you been in contact with John Graham here in Sydney as he's another member of the clan ? He's the big cheese in Sydney Dead Persons Society. He supplied the photo of Elizabeth Ann b 1883, Marrickville, his grandmother, that I put on the group web page. Look forward to hearing from you soon, Tony Moore (Castle Hill, NSW) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ On 20 May 2011 at 8:34, Judith Dumbrell wrote: From: "Judith Dumbrell" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Date sent: Fri, 20 May 2011 08:34:12 +1000 Subject: Re: [ENG-MAN] MONKS, HIBBERT Send reply to: [email protected] > Hello there, > > I am researching James MONKS, born about 1856 in Lancashire.
